We apologize for this issue and have a bug fix on the way. There is a work around in the meantime. When claiming your free bux, if you tap on the “tap here to skip this screen when collecting free bux” message found at the bottom of the free gift menu then close that menu and reopen it, there should be an option to "collect" which will credit your free bux going forward.
